Legendary rock band Oasis just finished up their long-awaited reunion tour at the end of November with a final show in São Paulo, Brazil, but guitarist Gem Archer teased the possibility of new music after 17 years in an enlightening new interview.
Archer sat down to talk with Guitar World and reflect on the exciting tour, discussing everything from how he kept the tour news secret from his family, to any next plans for the group
At the start of the interview, Archer was asked about the future of Oasis, with the guitarist initially saying that they all need time to reflect after the busy tour, declaring, “I still don’t know my ass from my elbow."
"It’s time to decompress," he went on. "It’s not just something you can flick on. We’ve all said we won’t know what this was ‘till next year. It really was a bit of a whirlwind."
But Archer quickly added, “I’d be up for more."

At the end of the conversation, after talking about things like what instruments Archer uses on stage and the band's dynamics, the interviewer asked again about what's next for Oasis.
Based on Archer's comments, it seems quite possible that the band could have new music coming soon.
"I don’t know anything about what’s coming up," he claimed, before going on, "It’s not my place to say. Anything could happen, which could include nothing. If stuff was happening, I think I might already know about it."
Despite his ambiguous answer, Archer added, "But Noel [Gallagher] has said, 'No rest for the immensely talented' – so take that how you want!", revealing his bandmate's encouraging comment.
Earlier in the interview, Archer also revealed that he kept news of the reunion tour secret from his own kids for a long time, saying, "I knew for months and months before everybody else, which is the weirdest thing to be sitting on when people are asking you the question."
With this in mind, fans should maybe take his statement of "I don’t know anything about what’s coming up" with a grain of salt.

At the same time, the Gallagher brothers have also appeared to tease more from Oasis recently. A fan asked Liam in early November, "are you sad that tour is ending soon?", to which he replied, "I’m not actually as I know things you don’t know," spurring intense speculation from fans.
As nothing new has been announced yet, either tour dates or new music, fans should keep an eye out for updates from the group in 2027.
When Was the Last Time Oasis Released New Music?
If Oasis finally comes out with new songs next year, it will be 17 years since their last release. The last new song to come from Oasis was "Falling Down," the single released in March 2009, only months before Noel quit the band as he and his brother were feuding.
Their last full album was 2008's Dig Out Your Soul, which was their seventh studio album. The record's three official singles were "The Shock of the Lightning," "I'm Outta Time," and "Falling Down."
At the time, the members of the band were the Gallagher brothers, Archer, and Andy Bell, while drummer Chris Sharrock and keyboardist Jay Darlington were there for sessions and touring.
