“Big Brother” star Melody Morris addresses flirtmance future with Drew outside of the house

Big Brother star Melody Morris reacts to her Egyptian Eviction, which is something I swear I did not just make up.

Melody sure did complain a lot about Drew. Melody sure did cuddle Drew a lot. So what does it all mean and what’s next for those two crazy kids.

We also ask to the newest juror if she regrets putting Yash up as a renom instead of taking out an icon.

No player frustrated Melody Morris this season on Big Brother more than Drew Campbell. For months, she complained, raged, and cried in the Diary Room about his gameplay and allegiance to the Icons. And yet Melody also clearly engaged in some level of showmance — or at least super duper mutual flirtation — with Drew, making for one of the franchise’s oddest romantic partnerships yet.

After Rick Devens won Head of Household, Melody’s fate in the game was sealed, especially after she was unable to win Veto and Drew instead took himself off the block. Indeed, the corporate game show host — still not entirely sure what that is — was indeed voted out during Wednesday’s Egyptian Eviction.

How does Melody truly feel about Drew, and does she hope to date him outside of the house? Why did she try to leave without saying goodbye? And does she regret getting Yash Patel out instead of Dee Valladares during last week’s Head of Household.

We asked Melody all that and more from her current stay in the Big Brother jury house.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You did a lot of complaining about Drew in your Diary Room sessions, yet also appeared to get extremely close with him on a personal level.  What are your thoughts on Drew as a player and what do you want your future to be with him outside of the house?

MELODY MORRIS: I did do a lot of complaining about Drew and was very close with him, but I guess the closest people to you annoy you the most. So I think that’s what happened there. And how do I feel about Drew as a player? I mean, I think he is ultimately a great player. He’s made it this far, but I think that it’s hard to respect some of his game. I feel like he just doesn’t have a backbone, ultimately. What does the future hold for Drew and I? I have absolutely no idea. I definitely do want to continue to be his friend and talk to him. I think he’s awesome.

Why did you originally walk straight out the door without hugging or saying goodbye to Drew, before he stopped you as you were leaving?

MELODY MORRIS: The feeling of being evicted is not fun. The only thing that I could think of in that moment when I was walking out the door was how badly I wanted to break down and cry. And I wasn’t thinking of anything except for getting out the door. I wish that I would have taken some more time to say goodbye to Drew, and I’m really glad Drew stopped me before I walked out. I would have been definitely more upset if I didn’t get to say bye to him. It was just not something that I was thinking of in the moment. I just wanted to get out.

You had a chance to break up the icons as Head of Household and take out Dee if you put Drew on the block as the renom instead of Yash. Why did you ultimately decide to put Yash up instead, and do you now regret that move?

Even though Drew and I had a lot of back and forth in our game together, I was never going to put Drew up on my HOH. He didn’t put me up on his HOH. He’s never voted me out of the house. I was not about to do that to Drew, who was my closest ally. And who’s to say if I put Drew up next to Dee, that Yash and Taylor would decide to get Drew out instead of Dee, and then Drew goes home on my HOH. That would be absolutely stupid and insane.

And I don’t regret putting Yash up and getting Yash out of the house. It does suck that I had the opportunity to get out an icon, but Devens was my target, and of course he had to win the Veto. And yeah, I mean, like, maybe Yash and Taylor would have gotten Dee out if she was next to Drew, but I feel like there was a huge chance that that wasn’t going to happen, especially with they were literally working with the icons at that point.

So I didn’t trust it at all, and I wasn’t about to have Drew leave on my HOH. So absolutely no regrets with what I did for my nominations

If you could go back and do anything different strategically during the course of the season that might have you put you in a better position to win, what would it be?

The only thing that I can think of that I would want to do over strategically to get me in a better position to win, is get closer with Dee earlier. I feel like if I had gotten closer with Dee before Taylor did and had more of an allyship with her, maybe that would have taken me further, but I think there was no way they were gonna keep me and Drew in the house together as a duo. But I feel like maybe if I got close with Dee earlier, I could have stayed.

Finally, have you called your mother yet on your imaginary Jury house phone, and, if so, what did she tell you?

I haven’t found a suitable imaginary phone here in the jury house, so I have not called my mom, but I did write her a letter, and writing is something that I love to do, and it felt really wonderful to write my mom a letter. And I did picture her just telling me how proud of me she is and how happy she is for me. And, you know, just to stay strong and she definitely knows that I’m very, very hard on myself, and I was just picturing her telling me that I did great and she loved me. And yeah, it does make me feel better. So thank you, mom.
