Jeremy Clarkson has given the farming world a spotlight with his Prime Video show Clarkson's Farm and while it's been a hit with fans, Countryfile presenter and farmer Adam Henson has revealed his own thoughts on the presenter's agricultural efforts.

Former Top Gear presenter Clarkson, 66, bought the 1000-acre farm in the Cotswolds in 2008 and after the villager who ran it retired in 2019, he decided to take it over. As seen over five series of the show, the broadcaster has developed it into Diddly Squat farm, opening up his own pub, The Farmer's Dog, as well as a farm shop run by his partner, Lisa Hogan.

Clarkson's neighbour, TV presenter and farmer Adam Henson, has opened up about the Grand Tour star's impact on the farming community – revealing that he's "a great advocate" for them.

Speaking to The Oxford Mail, Henson said that while he has only met Clarkson a number of times, they "get on really well".

"It seems to me from the people around him and from his own voice that he's really found a passion in farming," he said. "He's a great advocate for British agriculture, and he's tied up with some great people who work on the programme with him.

"Clarkson's Farm is very funny, it's quite theatrical in the way it's produced, but it's brought agriculture and farming to a whole new section of society. And for me as a farmer who loves telling the story about British agriculture, you've now got programmes like Countryfile and Clarkson's Farm, you've got YouTubers, you've got people on Instagram."

Henson added that he's a fan of anyone who can "help educate the consumer and the British public" about farming culture.

TV presenter Henson, 60, is best known for appearing on Countryfile as well as BBC Radio 4's On Your Farm and Farming Today. He runs his family's Cotswold Hills farm – a 650-hectare estate – with the Cotswold Farm Park.

Clarkson's Farm returned to our screens earlier this month and it's been an emotional one so far – with the presenter breaking down in tears after being forced to give away his pigs.

Having been told that keeping pigs on his farm was not financial viable, Clarkson became tearful as he sent many of them off to the slaughterhouse. "I love the pigs. I've just been delighted with every day I'm down there, they make my heart sing I'm so happy with them but we're running a business here and they make no financial sense at all," he said in the most recent episode.

Elsewhere in the series, Clarkson opened up about being days away from death after suffering a heart emergency, while viewers watched as he burned an effigy of Keir Starmer in response to LAbour's proposed 20 per cent inheritance tax hike.
