The flashes don't come as often anymore, but when Dustin Johnson finds that gear, it still stops you cold.

On Saturday at LIV Golf Andalucía in Sotogrande, Spain, the former World No. 1 reminded everyone what that looks like. A day after grinding through a 4-over 76, Johnson flipped the script at Real Club Valderrama, firing a blistering 7-under 64 to vault into a tie for fourth and back into the conversation.

The scorecard alone was impressive. The shot everyone will remember was something else entirely.

At the par-3 third, with 186 yards between him and the flag, Johnson sent a dart that landed softly, took a couple of purposeful hops, and disappeared into the cup.

Johnson's 4Aces squad also has put a stranglehold on the team competition for the week, shooting a combined 11 under for the day to get to 12 under for the competition. Legion XIII, led by Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, are in second, but eight shots behind.

"Obviously, it's always cool to make a hole-in-one. The previous two days I had hit really good shots, just did not turn out good," Rahm said. "Today when this one was in the air, I was like, this is as good a shot as I can hit; if it's not good, I don't know what to do. And it went in the hole. Obviously it was a bit lucky to go in, but I hit a really nice shot."

Dustin Johnson had an ace on Saturday in a LIV Golf event.

As for the big turnaround, Johnson insisted he wasn't that low on Thursday and he wasn't the high on Saturday.

"I know it's weird, but I didn't play bad the first day. It was like everything that could ... missed quite a few putts and hit a lot of good shots and ended up in bad spots. Yeah, I didn't feel like ... it was a really easy 5-over. Then obviously came back and played really nicely the last two days," he said.

"Even today, I know I shot 7-under, which is a really good score, but I played the par-5s even.

"I'm happy, obviously very happy with the score and very pleased with how I'm swinging the golf club."

Hatton, by virtue of a 67, is still in the individual lead at 10 under, with Thomas Detry two shots behind.
