Dolly Parton and Sabrina Carpenter’s surprising collaboration made a mark not just on music fans but also sparked a new wave of online curiosity.

Despite their generational gap, with the “queen of country music” dominating the ‘70s and the ‘80s and the Disney alum captivating Gen Z with her dance-pop hits, their infectious charm and unexpected chemistry won the public’s heart in 2025.

As the year wrapped up with global events and trending moments, Google released its list of Top Global Breakout Searches, highlighting the biggest topics of 2025 across politics, technology, sports, entertainment and cultural moments.

Topping the list is “Dolly and Sabrina,” which Google officially recognized as a 2025 Breakout Search.

The tech giant also made a special post honoring the two award-winning singers, announcing their status as one of 2025’s biggest breakout moments.

“We’re pleased pleased pleased to announce that ‘Dolly and Sabrina’ is a 2025 Breakout Search. #YearInSearch @dollyparton @sabrinacarpenter,” the post reads along with the video of the 79-year-old singer and the “Espresso” hitmaker’s version of Carpenter’s "Please Please Please" featuring Parton.

The Instagram post instantly ignited excitement among fans, hyping up the iconic duo.

“THE ULTIMATE DREAM TEAM,” one wrote.

“The duo we didn’t think we need but we will be obsessed with,” a follower said.

The same goes for another user who remarked, “the collab that literally broke the internet iktrrrr.”

“Omg no way this is so iconic and I'm so glad she got to do this with one of her idols,” a commenter echoed.

“Breakout energy across generations. Two icons, one moment — and the world is watching,” a fan said.

Congratulations also poured in as fans flooded the comment section with messages of excitement and support.

“Huge congrats to Dolly and Sabrina! Well-deserved spotlight for 2025’s Breakout Search,” one wrote.

As mentioned, the collaboration was for Carpenter's deluxe version of her album Short n' Sweet.

Instead of the disco-synth-pop theme of “Please, Please, Please,” the music legend’s classic country touch added playful and nostalgic flavor to the track.

Moreover, the video was also inspired by the iconic movie Thelma & Louise.

However, before Parton said “yes” to the collaboration, she set firm boundaries, particularly around the explicit lyric, making sure it stayed true to her image.

“I told her, I said, ‘Now, I don’t cuss,'” the “9 to 5” singer told Knox News in an interview, adding, “‘I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words on camera, but I might if I get mad enough.'”

The Country Music Hall of Famer was referring to the famous “motherf—r” bomb from the chorus of “Please Please Please,” but instead they changed it to “I beg you, don’t embarrass me like the others.”
