Jennifer Lopez isn't letting any negativity from social media follow her into 2026 − and certainly not as she kicks off her Las Vegas residency.
The 56-year-old pop star, who launched her residency "Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live in Las Vegas" at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace on Dec. 30, took some time during her show's opening night to directly address those criticizing her online for her wardrobe. During the speech, captured in a TikTok video, Lopez spoke to the crowd in a sequin fringe miniskirt.
"Thank God I've been doing this a long time. I can just ignore a lot of it. It really doesn't mean nothing. I tell my kids that all the time. But it could be the saddest, meanest place on earth," Lopez said of social media. "But it was funny. I do laugh at some of the things sometimes, because they do say funny things too."

And what are those "funny things?" Lopez gave some examples.
"'Why when she takes pictures she always smiles with her mouth open?' ... 'Why she always dressed that way?' 'Why don't she dress her age?'" Lopez said. "'Why she always naked?'"
When it comes to that last question, Lopez has a simple answer. "If you had this booty, you’d be naked too," she exclaimed, before turning around and jaunting to the back of the stage for an apparent quick change.

In a 2018 interview with Harper's Bazaar, Lopez revealed some of her health and mindfulness practices for feeling and looking youthful.
“Affirmations are so important,” she told the outlet. “I am youthful and timeless. I tell myself that every day, a few times a day ... Age is all in your mind. Look at Jane Fonda.”
She also told the magazine she's grown kinder to herself as she's gotten older. "When I was younger I spent a lot of time being half happy and half not happy,” she said. “I know who I am and what I want. I also know my strengths and weaknesses. It took me a long time to get to a point where I could say something nice about myself. I’m glad I can do that now.”
