Kelly Ripa reveals ‘really embarrassing’ way she injured her back while sitting on toilet

Kelly Ripa revealed on a commercial break from Live With Kelly and Mark that she injured her back while sitting on the toilet.

Ripa called the incident “really embarrassing.”

“Yeah, I said it. I hurt my back sitting on the toilet, okay?” the 55-year-old said.

Kelly Ripa’s plight of injuries has continued, from the oral surgeon’s table into the bathroom.

The 55-year-old daytime TV queen revealed on a commercial break from Thursday’s Live With Kelly and Markthat she weathered another incident that led to a personal injury — this time while she was sitting on the toilet.

“You want to hear what I did? It’s really embarrassing. Guess how I hurt my back?” Ripa said in footage from the set (below), which was filmed during a commercial break from the show and was later shared to the Live Instagram page.

One audience member suspected that Ripa simply hurt it while “bending over,” though the host and actress quickly explained what really happened.

“Sitting on a toilet,” she exclaimed. She then sat down to demonstrate how a seemingly innocuous motion ultimately produced a painful result.

“Typically, the toilet issue is on this side,” Ripa said, moving her body to the right. “But, we were staying at a hotel. It was over here.”

Ripa then motioned to the other side, indicating that the hotel placed the tissue holder to the left of the toilet.

The TV personality continued, “So, I went like that and hurt my back. It was like, eeeh! So, yeah, I said it. I hurt my back sitting on the toilet, okay?”

Ripa’s latest injury comes months after she missed two weeks of live shows at the end ofLive With Kelly and Mark’s 38th season, as she had to undergo a painful gum graft procedure as a result of over-brushing.

Ripa later explained that she was “not allowed to talk for 10 days” while she recovered. In her absence, husband and cohost Mark Consuelos revealed on the air that his wife was in extreme pain.

“They take the skin off of the roof of your mouth and they put it [over your gums],” Ripa eventually explained on her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, though she also clarified that she was supposed to have the surgery “five years ago,” but she ultimately put it off.
