Kris Jenner reflected on her favorite Christmas gift, which was given to her by late ex husband Robert Kardashian Sr., during a recent conversation on daughter Khloé Kardashian's podcast
Kris, who was married to Robert from 1978 until 1991, praised him for being a thoughtful gift-giver
Robert died in 2003 after being diagnosed with cancer, but Kris has previously said they remained "best friends" in the years after their divorce
The holiday season has always been particularly special for the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Kris Jenner joined daughter Khloé Kardashian for a “Krismas”-themed episode of her Khloé In Wonderland podcast earlier this month. While discussing their favorite gifts they’ve ever received, the momager, 70, revealed hers came from her late ex-husband and Khloé’s father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
“Your dad was always somebody that wanted you to really want something, like he wanted a great surprise, and he wanted to surprise and delight,” she explained. “And I remember once, for example, I really wanted a car once when I was growing up — because basically I grew up with him — and one day we were going out to dinner, and it was the night before Mother's Day and we were late, and we ran out into the garage and there was a brand new car with a big bow on it.”
“When you least expect it was when your dad would give a gift,” she continued. “He would think about it for a really long time.”

Robert and Kris got married in 1978 and welcomed four children together: Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Rob (Kris also shares daughters Kendall and Kylie with ex Caitlyn Jenner). They split in 1991, two years after Kris’ affair with soccer player-turned-animator Todd Waterman, but remained “best friends” until he died at the age of 59 from esophageal cancer in September 2003.
The mom of six went on to share that as their lifestyle became more lavish — Robert was a high-profile attorney in Los Angeles — her gift requests did as well.
“I really got a little bougie as I got older and had kids and got a little more mature and started seeing beautiful, shiny new things,” Kris admitted. “I felt really blessed. And I remember I had this beautiful Piaget watch on my wish list forever, and he would say, ‘This is what you want? You want this watch? I don't understand, you have a watch.’ It was this beautiful, dressy, dress watch, and I had talked about it for a long time.”
“I'm the wife that accidentally puts the picture of the watch on the refrigerator or on his closet door or maybe when he lifts the seat to pee it's there,” she laughed. “I would do the craziest things and put this picture of this watch everywhere.”

When Christmas rolled around that year, Kris remembered Robert handing her her present in a large box, which left her assuming it was too big to be jewelry.
“I couldn't imagine what it was,” she said. “I opened the gift and it's a Barbie in a box. And it was really cute, and I used to collect them — I still to this day collect the Christmas Barbie. So every year at Christmas, my mom gives me the Christmas Barbie now, and your dad used to give me a Christmas Barbie.”
While it had sentimental value, Kris confessed that she was trying to hide her disappointment that she didn’t receive the luxury watch (prices currently start at several thousand dollars and can even surpass six figures).
“I was like, ‘This is what I'm getting for Christmas?’ I was a spoiled brat,” Kris quipped. “So he said, ‘Don't you want to look at her or play with her?’ And I go, ‘Okay.’ You know, I felt bad that I wasn't more excited about opening this Barbie. So I pulled her out. You know how they have the Barbie attached with plastic and it takes like nine hours to get the Barbie out of the box. So get the Barbie out of the box, and she had the watch around her waist.”
“He had covered it with tissue or something, it was really cute,” she gushed. “So, I think that was the most [special]. I was so excited.”
