Gilmore Girlsstar Lauren Grahamrevealed how she and her castmateAlexis Bledel managed to keep their energy up during demanding shoot days.
In an October 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Graham, who played the ever-so-animated Lorelai Gilmore, said she and Bledel, who played her on-screen daughter, Rory Gilmore, would start singing to stay awake on the Warner Bros. lot where Gilmore Girls was filmed.
"Alexis and I, when we would get kind of loopy, would sing and sometimes we would sing the Minnie Riperton song, 'Lovin’ You.' I don’t know why; we would just sort of break into song to keep ourselves awake. We would get really punchy and silly," said Graham to the publication.
In the same Hollywood Reporter interview, the show's co-creatorAmy Sherman-Palladino explained that filming the series, which had a seven-season run until 2007, "was very frantic."
"We were shooting 80 pages in eight days, so 10 pages a day with no hiatuses and no breaks, and we were doing 22 episodes. I don’t know how we did it," recalled the writer in the interview. "We had so little time and so little money that by Christmas, when I think we would get a week off, Lauren and Alexis’ eyes were so huge for lack of sleep and from the constant workload that I kind of thought they were going to kill me."
Lauren Graham Said She'd Be Willing to Reprise the Role of Lorelai Gilmore Again
Graham appeared as Lorelai again in the 2016 four-episode Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. In a February 2025 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Graham said she would consider playing her iconic coffee-loving character in another Gilmore Girls project."I always say yes because it's the best part I've ever had, and I love doing it," said Graham during the interview.
She also said that she is grateful to have starred in the beloved '00s series.
"It just means so much to me," said Graham.
In an April 2025 interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Graham said she would like to come back as Lorelai in a one-off Gilmore Girls Christmas special.
"You get to visit your characters and it's holiday and it's sentimental. But it's not like a whole reboot of the whole thing," said the Parenthood actress during the talk show interview.
