It’s hard to believe that a musical group that debuted their first album in 1986 is set to help us ring in the new year almost 4 decades later. The beloved boy band New Kids on the Block is part of the massive lineup of performers scheduled for the 50th airing of Dick Clark'sNew Year's Rockin' Eve, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. And fans can’t wait.

The band, made up of all 5 original members, Donnie Wahlberg,Joey McIntyre,Jonathan Knight,Jordan Knight, and Danny Wood, took to Instagram to show their excitement with a reel set to their hit song "You Got It (The Right Stuff)". Cross-posted in the band's stories, the clip includes a live countdown to the show.

Fans, lovingly referred to as Blockheads, across the world are sharing the excitement:

Fans from France and Canada are hoping to tune in as well, "Looking forward to it! Merry Christmas to my fellow Blockheads from Canada!!" One adoring fan commented.

These guys are for sure "Hangin' Tough," as their first album title promised they would be. This year will complete the trifecta of their Rockin' Eve performances, as they were a part of the show in 2011 and 2019. Despite all being in their 50s, the band has not lost momentum. They have continued to fill venues for years, touring all over the world, and are currently promoting their Las Vegas Residency at MGM Vegas from February through October 2026.

NKOTB will be joined by artists across multiple genres, both new and established, for what promises to be the longest broadcast event in the show's history. The lineup includes:Chappell Roan, Goo Goo Dolls,50 Cent,Rick Springfield,Demi Lovato, and many more. New Year's Rockin' Eve will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, will air live on ABC starting at 8 E.T. on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025.
