A cause of death has been announced for Jayne Trcka, two months after the athlete and actress was found dead in her San Diego home.

The bodybuilder, whose onscreen appearances include a role in the 2000 parody horror film *Scary Movie*, died from heart and circulation issues on Dec. 12 at 62, the San Diego County Medical Examiner confirmed to **.* *Trcka's immediate cause of death was listed as hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease complicated by left femoral fracture.

The report additionally noted chronic alcohol use as a contributing factor in her death, which was ruled an accident.**

Trcka's death was first reported by in January, weeks after her body was discovered in her San Diego home following several attempts from a friend to get in touch with her. The friend eventually went to Trcka's residence to check on her and discovered the actress unresponsive in the kitchen. Authorities were contacted and first responders arrived on the scene, where Trcka was pronounced dead.

Born on April 16, 1963, in St. Paul, Minn., Trcka studied gymnastics and other sports before pursuing a career in bodybuilding. She began weight training in 1986, and 12 years later, quit her day job as a postal carrier to focus on a career in fitness training. In addition to competing in numerous bodybuilding shows, Trcka appeared in such fitness magazines as *Flex*, *MuscleMag International*, and *Women's Physique World*.

She later made her foray into film and television, beginning with *Scary Movie.* The spoof film saw her play Miss Mann, the gym teacher who gives Anna Faris' Cindy Campbell a memorable pep talk. The comedic turn led to roles in 2002's* The Black Magic*, 2003's *Nudity Required*, 2003's *The Interplanetary Surplus Male and Amazon Women of Outer Space*, and 2006's *Cattle Call*. On the small screen, she guested on such shows as *The Drew Carey Show* and the improv game show *Whose Line is It Anyway?*.

Trcka's last onscreen appearance was an uncredited role in the 2016 film *The Bad Batch*. In her later years, the former athlete and actress worked as a realtor in California.**
