Sienna Miller Explains Why She ‘Somewhat Regrets’ Letting Her Daughter Marlowe, 14, Join Her on the Red Carpet

Sienna Miller’s 14-year-old daughter Marlowe joined her on the red carpet at the War premiere this month

Miller expressed concern over the attention Marlowe received, saying it’s not healthy for someone so young

Miller joked about sending Marlowe to a nunnery and described her as stylish, clever and critical of fashion choices

Sienna Miller isn’t interested in having her 14-year-old daughter Marlowe step into the spotlight just yet.

Earlier this month, the teenage daughter of Miller, 44, and her ex Tom Sturridge, appeared alongside her famous mom on the red carpet at the London premiere of her new series, War.

The Internet quickly raved over the moment with Marlowe, who wore a casual T-shirt look while her mom rocked a strapless black gown. However, Miller shared in a new interview that the moment was not planned and likely won’t be repeated anytime soon.

“Honestly, she came with her friend, my mom was there and for five seconds at the end she kind of came and gave me a hug,” Miller explained on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Thursday, Sept. 24. “I don’t think any one of us anticipated what would happen.”

Miller, who also welcomed a baby girl with her fiancé Oli Green in 2024 and a baby boy in spring 2026, admitted that she wasn’t a fan of the attention her young daughter received for the moment.

“I felt, I think, like it was not a great thing for her at this point in her life,” Miller said. “She’s so young, and she is so beautiful, but she’s much more interestingly incredibly clever and kind and funny. I just think whether the attention is positive or negative, being aware of that level of attention at that age is not good.”

Miller joked of Marlowe, “She wants to be locked up now.”

The comments echoed a sentiment Miller recently shared on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show.

“I think I somewhat regret it because I didn’t expect, and I don’t think she expected that that would have the response that it got,” Miller said of the red carpet exchange. “And I think I’m going to be sending her away to a nunnery for the next four years till she can emerge as an actual adult.”

Back in 2024, Miller opened up to The Guardian about her daughter’s love of fashion, calling her “A little fashion monster.”

At the time, she added, “She’s so stylish. And very critical. She’s like a young Anna Wintour in her total disdain for some of the things I wear.”
