Miller made a rare appearance with Marlowe during the London premiere for new Skydance and HBO legal triller War. The mother-daughter red carpet moment was organic, Miller explained during a Wednesday appearance on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show, and she has some “regret” over it.

“Marlowe didn’t actually walk the red carpet with me. She came with her friend. My mom was also there,” Miller said during the radio show. “It was five seconds at the end where she, like, came to give me a hug and totally mogged me.”

The Anatomy of a Scandalstar added, “I didn’t expect and I don’t think she expected that would have the response that it got. I think I’m going to be sending her away to a nunnery for the next four years until she can emerge as an actual adult. It was not what was planned. It was not intentional.”

While people have fixated on Marlowe’s beauty, Miller said that’s “the least interesting thing” about her daughter. (Miller shares Marlowe with ex Tom Sturridge. She’s also a mom to a daughter, born in 2024, and son, born earlier this year, with Oli Green.)

“She’s so clever and she’s so funny and she’s still my little girl,” Miller continued. “I don’t know that we’re going to be doing more red carpets. She, kind of, popped on at the end. It was five seconds.”

Miller was in high spirits on Sept. 16 when attending the War premiere. She was dressed to the nines in a black gown while posing next to Marlowe, who kept it on the casual side with a yellow T-shirt paired with a black skirt. The two smiled lovingly at each other while photographers snapped photos, making for the viral moment.

“She’s my little buddy. She’s heaven,” Miller said during Wednesday’s radio show, noting that it’s “hard” to be a parent in the public eye.

“Your kids want to be involved in your life and it’s an exciting world to kind of dip a toe into, but then it’s so easy to get your life prescribed to you by these moments and suddenly your career is decided,” she said. “Marlowe being at my event, you know that, of course, she wants to be there, but you don’t want to write your kids’ histories or futures for them.”
