Sister Wives star Meri Brown became the final and most uncomfortable stop on Kody Brown’s apology tour.

After offering apologies to ex-wives Janelle and Christine Brown, Kody Brown came face-to-face with Meri during a tense meetup in Utah. While the sit-down appeared to be Kody’s attempt to clear his conscience, his first wife made it clear she wasn’t interested in letting him off the hook.

Kody began the discussion in the same manner he did with his other two former wives; he took it upon himself to set them free from him, not understanding that they had already moved on. However, Kody wasn't expecting Meri's reaction to his statements.

Meri made it clear that she was happy and that Kody's overreaching apologies were unnecessary, unless they were for his own benefit. In fact, she told him that the more he used the words "I apologize," the less sincere they felt.

"An apology is so needed here," he said in a clip posted to TLC's Instagram. "Because this is still so toxic and I apologize for that."

She asked, "Do you apologize that you are toxic to me? Or are you just being general?"

Kody replied, "I apologize that I am toxic to you Meri, or was toxic to you." She answered, "Thank you."

In a confessional, Meri told TLC's cameras, "The more this conversation goes on and the fact that he's saying, 'No, we can't have a conversation,' it's for him. It's for sure just all about him, which is fine. If he needs this, he can have it."

For the second time during Kody's apology tour, the topic of his 13 children with Meri, Janelle, and Christine was approached. Again, just like a prior interaction with David Woolley, Christine's husband, the subject was shot down.

"I hope you're at a place now that you can say that you don't regret it, because you have so many kids, Kody," Meri declared. He clapped back, "Let's not talk about the kids. That's verboten."

Viewers agreed with Meri, that Kody's apologies to his exes were for his own benefit, not theirs. They shared their remarks via Instagram.

"Great job Meri. You took the high road but calmly held him accountable," wrote one follower.

"I LOVE how all three universally told him they had already moved on and healed. I really think he couldn’t understand this possibility," penned a second Instagram user.

A third viewer noted, "This is not going the way he expected and I love that."

Episode 15 of Season 20 of Sister Wives, titled "No Brain, No Pain," airs Sunday, January 4 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
