A CBS exit appears to run in the family!
Stephen Colbert's 30-year-old daughter, Madeleine Carlisle, has reportedly walked out of her job at CBS' 60 Minutes just two months after her dad's infamous Late Show cancellation.
Madeline, who Stephen shares with his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert, spent the last four years at the CBS News show as an associate producer before she reportedly handed in her notice in recent days. It comes after The Late Show's finale broke viewership records.

Madeline first joined 60 Minutes in 2017 as an intern, going on to work for The Atlantic and Time magazine. She returned to the long-running news program in 2022 as an associate producer.
Her exit from the CBS show, first reported by Status, follows her father Stephen's May 21 swan song as host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. CBS announced in July 2025 that it was canceling The Late Show and ceasing all in-house late-night programming as of May 2026.

The network later reached a deal in which producer and host Byron Allen's company Allen Media Group bought airtime from CBS in Stephen's former timeslot to air its program Comics Unleashed.
CBS has firmly denied claims that its decision to cancel The Late Show was politically motivated, despite reaching a $16 million legal settlement with President Donald Trump, who has been routinely critical of Stephen, 62, and other late-night hosts.

Trump also settled his lawsuit against CBS after claiming that a 60 Minutes interview with his 2024 presidential election opponent, Kamala Harris, was deceptively edited. CBS admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement.

Meanwhile, 60 Minutes has also been at the center of the upheaval over the appointment of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief of CBS News in October 2025.
Bari, 42, reportedly ruffled feathers behind the scenes by firing 60 Minutes producers Tanya Simon, Draggan Mihailovich and Matthew Polevoy, as well as correspondents Cecilia Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi, in May.
She appointed Vanity Fair special correspondent Nick Bilton as the new 60 Minutes executive producer, and added former British politician Trevor Phillips and conservative columnist Ross Douthat to its staff.
If that wasn't enough in terms of staffing changes, longtime correspondent Scott Pelley was fired in June following an allegedly heated meeting with Nick. Scott, 69, subsequently accused Bari of trying to insert political bias into 60 Minutes reporting.
The anchor went on to accuse Skydance Media, led by David Ellison, of "casting this legend [of 60 Minutes] aside, apparently to curry a moment of favor with the Trump administration" after Skydance merged with CBS' corporate owners, Paramount, in August 2025.
