Netflix kicked off the summer by cranking up the heat with the new Jennifer Lopez rom-com *Office Romance*.

Lopez stars in the new movie as Jackie Cruz, the tough-as-nails CEO of an airline company who runs her business by the book, which includes maintaining a strict policy that forbids employees from having romantic relationships. Enter Daniel Blanchflower (*Ted Lasso* fave Brett Goldstein), the company's handsome new lawyer who immediately puts Jackie's policy to the test. As a bonus, the movie also features a reunion between Lopez and Edward James Olmos, who played her dad in *Selena* (1997).

*Office Romance* has been dominating the Netflix chart since it was released on June 5. If you're still in swoon-mode, here are five great rom-coms starring Jennifer Lopez to watch next.

Marry Me (2022)

Netflix subscribers don't even need to exit the app to watch another delightful Jennifer Lopez rom-com. Originally released on Peacock alongside a theatrical debut, *Marry Me* premiered in 2022 and costars Owen Wilson, Sarah Silverman, and *Game of Thrones* alum John Bradley (a.k.a. Samwell Tarly).

Lopez plays Kat Valdez, a pop superstar whose tumultuous relationship history, which includes four failed marriages, is major tabloid fodder — sounds familiar, no? Kat is planning to wed her new fiancé, fellow musician Bastian (Colombian rapper Maluma), at one of her concerts in an event that will be live-streamed around the world. But just as Kat is about to tie the knot, a tabloid runs a story about her fiancé's affair with her assistant.

Instead of calling the whole thing off, Kat looks in the crowd and spots handsome dad Charlie (Wilson) holding a sign his daughter made that reads "Marry Me," the title of Kat and Bastian's hit duet. Kat makes the impulsive decision to marry Charlie, who agrees to remain in the relationship for a few months for the positive press. As Kat gets to know Charlie — a divorced single dad and math teacher — their fake romance blossoms into real love.

Out of Sight (1998)

It's not a *pure* rom-com, but *Out of Sight* might be something even better: It's a sexy comedic thriller starring Lopez and George Clooney, whose on-screen chemistry is beyond electric.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, *Out of Sight* stars Clooney as Jack Foley, a successful and notorious bank robber whose prison escape is complicated by the interference of U.S. Marshal Karen Sisco (Lopez). When Foley and his accomplice steal Sisco's car to get away from the scene, they stick her in the trunk with Foley, and it doesn't take long for the two to start talking. Their mutual attraction is instantaneous and undeniable.

Later, when Sisco gets away and returns to work, she makes it her mission to track Foley down, resulting in the steamiest, most exhilarating game of cat-and-mouse in modern movie history. With a star-studded supporting cast that includes Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Catherine Keener, Viola Davis, and Steve Zahn, *Out of Sight* is a must-see, especially for Lopez fans.

The Wedding Planner (2001)

You couldn't make a rom-com in the ’90s and early ’00s without Matthew McConaughey, Lopez's costar in *The Wedding Planner*.

This sweet rom-com follows the eponymous wedding planner, Mary (Lopez), who is more concerned with her career ambitions than fulfilling her dad's wish of marrying her childhood sweetheart. But Mary gets more than she bargained for with her new client, the ultra-wealthy heiress Fran (Bridgette Wilson-Sampras). After a handsome pediatrician named Steve (McConaughey) rescues Mary from oncoming traffic, the pair hit it off over the course of one impossibly romantic evening— only for Mary to discover that Steve is actually Fran's fiancé.

With a classic rom-com setup and cute chemistry between McConaughey and Lopez, *The Wedding Planner* is a charming throwback worth seeking out.

Monster-in-Law (2005)

*Monster-in-Law* was a monster hit at the box office, thanks in no small part to Lopez's star power and the casting of the great Jane Fonda, who hadn't appeared in a film in 15 years.

The 2005 rom-com stars Lopez as Jackie, an aspiring fashion designer who meets and instantly falls head over heels for Kevin, a handsome doctor (we're sensing a theme here) played by Michael Vartan (1999's *Never Been Kissed*). Kevin proposes to Jackie, and it seems like she's finally found her happily-ever-after — until she meets Kevin's overbearing mom, Viola (Fonda).

A famous talk show host, Viola recently had a very public meltdown and attacked a teen pop star when she found out she was being replaced by a younger host. Jackie's soon-to-be mother-in-law channels all her resentment and rage into breaking up her son's engagement by becoming an absolute terror. It's fun to watch Fonda play the most comically extreme versions of nightmarish mother-in-law tropes.

Maid in Manhattan (2002)

For a younger generation, it might be hard to imagine Ralph Fiennes, best known for his role as the sinister Voldemort in the *Harry Potter* movies, as a romantic leading man. But Fiennes is an immensely versatile actor, and he turns on the charm in *Maid in Manhattan*.

Lopez stars as Marisa, a single mom and New York native who works as a housekeeper in a glamorous, high-class hotel. While Marisa is cleaning out a room, her son, Ty, is befriended by a wealthy politician named Chris (Fiennes), resulting in a classic meet cute of the mistaken identity variety. Marisa is trying on an expensive designer coat that a socialite left behind when Ty brings Chris up to the hotel room, leading Chris to believe that Marisa is actually the room's previous guest.

A riff on the beloved *Cinderella* fairy tale, *Maid in Manhattan* follows Marisa and Chris as they navigate their class differences in an unlikely romance.
