Four years after James Reece first charged into the spotlight, The Terminal List is gearing up for Season 2. A new featurette brings Chris Pratt, author Jack Carr, and the series’ executive producers together to preview a second season that pushes Reece far beyond familiar territory.

Chris Pratt reflects on the long wait in the featurette, citing the first season’s reception, “The response was so epic.” This time, James Reece’s mission stretches across the globe, taking the story from the Indian Ocean to Mozambique, Morocco, Brussels (Belgium), Washington, D.C. (USA), and Odesa (Ukraine).
Jack Carr, who also serves as an executive producer, wanted the follow-up to break away from the first season’s mostly domestic setting. He said fans will be “extremely excited” by how the team expanded the show, with Season 2 taking a deliberately global approach.
That worldwide scope also shaped the production. Executive producer David DiGilio said the team built the action around authenticity rather than leaning heavily on CGI. The production uses CGI and visual effects to enhance sequences, but the filmmakers aim to capture as much as possible “in camera,” giving the series a throwback action feel.

Navy SEAL and executive producer Jared Shaw also highlighted the locations, saying the terrain created a texture and atmosphere that would have been difficult to “replicate.” Pratt also described the filming as “a monumental effort.”
The returning lineup includes Pratt as Reece, Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, Riley Keough as Lauren Reece, Arlo Mertz as Lucy Reece, and Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings. Gabriel Luna joins as former SEAL Team 6/CIA Ground Branch operative Freddy Strain, alongside Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, and Martin Sensmeier.
Fans are already sounding off, with reactions ranging from “I can’t wait” and “We are soo backkk” to viewers revisiting Season 1 and its spinoff before the new chapter arrives. Season 2 premieres October 21.
