Marvin Harrison Jr. has barely gotten going this season, yet his name is already popping up in trade conversations.
The Arizona Cardinals’ 2024 No. 4 overall pick has just one catch on four targets through two games, fueling questions about his role under a new coaching staff and offensive system. Now, with Arizona sitting at 1-1, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that NFL executives are wondering whether the Cardinals could consider moving Harrison before the trade deadline.
That possibility has quickly sparked debate, especially over a potential move to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chiefs Fans Want a Trade for Marvin Harrison Jr.
Some Chiefs fans immediately embraced the idea of adding Harrison, believing Patrick Mahomes could help unlock the young receiver’s potential.
One fan proposed a trade, writing, “Trade Josh Simmons for him.”
Another suggested, “I keep saying it. Josh Simmons for Marvin Harrison Jr and a 5th.”

Others wanted general manager Brett Veach to make a move, with one commenter saying, “Make it happen, Veach.”
One fan believes a move to Kansas City could help Harrison regain his confidence, writing, “Mahomes deep balls and Marv gets his confidence back, we might need this to happen.”
Another fan, however, warned the rest of the league, saying, “Don’t let the Chiefs get him… it’s a wrap for the rest of the league.”
Not Everyone Wants Harrison in Kansas City
Others pushed back on the idea that Kansas City is the perfect destination for a struggling wide receiver.

One fan questioned the Chiefs’ reputation for developing receivers, writing, “Why does KC have this reputation of being a WR factory? We’ve only had 1 elite receiver in 15 years.”
Another made a similar point, saying, “The Chiefs haven’t developed a receiver since Tyreek so idk where you’re getting this idea from but it’s flat out wrong.”
One fan said Raiders coach Klint Kubiak could help Harrison, writing, “Klint can fix him.”
Another fan preferred Buffalo, writing, “The Chiefs? Nah, the Bills Josh Allen would do damage with Marvin Harrison.”
One user also added, “Bring him home,” while indicating a trade to the Indianapolis Colts, the team for which Harrison’s father played.
Harrison is currently on a four-year rookie contract and can become extension-eligible after the 2026 season.
Trading him would also create dead-cap charges because of accelerated bonuses. Despite those complications, Arizona would likely demand significant draft compensation to move a player of Harrison’s age and draft pedigree this early in his career.
For now, Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur has preached patience. He has pointed out that the season is still long and that it can take time for an offense to develop its rhythm.
Harrison Jr., who had a 73.7 impact score (42nd at his position) on PFN’s WR Impact Metric last season, will look to find his rhythm as the Cardinals move forward. If his limited role continues, trade speculation could grow louder ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline.
