Alexander Zverev and Sophia Thomalla have been dating since 2020

Alexander Zverev has been dating his girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, for over five years.
The couple have been together since 2020, and Thomalla is consistently seen in the stands at his tennis matches.
"I think for tennis players it is always very important who you have next to you. Sophia is someone who gives me peace and security," Zverev told a German tennis magazine in December 2021. "I play extremely well with her behind me."
Throughout his relationship with Thomalla, Zverev has faced domestic abuse allegations from two former partners, which he has denied. In 2023, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) concluded an investigation into allegations made by former girlfriend Olga Sharypova without taking disciplinary action. In a separate case, his ex-partner Brenda Patea accused him of causing bodily harm during a 2020 argument. The two reached a settlement in 2024, per ESPN.

She was born and raised in Germany

Thomalla is a German native who was born in East Berlin on Oct. 6, 1989. Her parents, mom Simone Thomalla and dad André Vetters, are actors.
Throughout her childhood, she lived in Cologne, Kleinmachnow and Gelsenkirchen, in addition to Berlin.
She's a model, entrepreneur and TV personality

Similar to her parents, Thomalla pursued a career in the entertainment industry as a model, actress and television presenter. Among her many credits is hosting a local adaptation of Are You the One?, a dating game show that originally premiered on MTV in the U.S. in 2014.
TV and film aside, Thomalla is also the founder of Hardkorn Spirits.

Thomalla has supported Zverev at various tennis tournaments over the years and can often be seen cheering from the stands while he plays on the court. In November 2024, the model watched him take home the title at the ATP Paris Masters.

In January 2025, Zverev and Thomalla made headlines when they were caught on camera doing a secret handshake before his matches at the Australian Open.
"Look, man, you got to understand we are German, this is the coolest version of German that you can be," Zverev told a reporter at the time. "This is the top of German coolness, it does not go any further than that."
She was formerly in a high-profile relationship

Thomalla was linked to Gavin Rossdale in 2017, a romance that marked the first for the rocker following his split from Gwen Stefani.
He was spotted kissing and walking arm in arm with Thomalla in London in April that year. "They're friends, introduced by a mutual friend," a Rossdale source told PEOPLE at the time.
The two made their relationship Instagram official the following July. "Having fun in #Reno," Rossdale captioned the photo of the then-couple in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Thomalla and Rossdale dated for a little over a year before calling it quits.
Prior to that, Thomalla was married to Norwegian singer Andy LaPlegua. They tied the knot in March 2016 and announced their divorce in May 2017.

Season 2 of Netflix's Break Point documented Zverev's recovery journey following his ankle injury in 2022. It also gave fans a peek into the athlete's relationship with Thomalla.
During one confessional, the model gave Zverev grief for always being tardy. "He's always late in every situation, and I'm losing my mind," she said with a laugh.
