A Different World is coming back with a new reboot on Netflix.
The original series aired from Sept. 24, 1987, to July 9, 1993, on NBC, and centered on college students at Hillman College, a fictional school in Virginia. The mishaps and relationships in this coming-of-age television series resonated with viewers worldwide and became part of pop culture.
The cast, including Lisa Bonet, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer, Kadeem Hardison and Sinbad, gave us laughs and insight into college life. After every episode, high school students of every age planned their escape to university and envisioned a life of friendships and fun times.
The reboot comes to Netflix on Sept. 24 and follows Deborah Wayne, Dwayne and Whitney’s daughter. Expect to see the likes of the former cast making guest appearances.

Aquarius: Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor

Using her worldly insights to help her pals, Jaleesa is the ultimate water bearer.
Pisces: Millie

Millie is Whitley’s debutante best friend who follows her everywhere. Pisces are compassionate to those they admire, but Millie takes it too far. Sometimes, Whitley shows Millie TLC; however, it’s usually the other way around. The kind and endearing sentimentality of Millie makes it hard for the viewer not to root for her, as we would for tender Pisces.
