Gisele Bündchen opted to keep her recent nuptials with Joaquim Valente private because she is “tired of all the attention,” a source tells PEOPLE
The source added that “a small, private non-event” was exactly what the 45-year-old model wanted

Gisele Bündchen is currently all about keeping things low-key — and her recent marriage to Joaquim Valente is no exception.
Bündchen wed Valente, a jiu-jitsu instructor, in a small ceremony in Surfside, Fla., on Dec. 3. A source in Miami tells PEOPLE that the small, private ceremony was exactly what the model wanted.
“Gisele is tired of all of the attention on her private life, but [she and Valente] are both so happy being together, and being new parents it was what they wanted to do. They are best friends with a lot in common and are so excited about everything,” the source tells PEOPLE.
“Gisele just wants to do things her own way," the insider adds. "And a small, private non-event was what she wanted.”
The source went on to share that Bündchen, 45, is incredibly happy in Miami, where she currently lives.

“Her life is filled with her kids, her loving family and work, but it is more manageable,” the source says, adding, “She is happy being married again, happy being a mom and happy in her environment. It is an enviable position.”

Another source tells PEOPLE that Bündchen didn’t want anything “over the top” for her recent nuptials.
“Gisele is happy and in love, and getting married was in her plans — the timing just had to be right. She didn’t want anything over the top or made public so they could enjoy the day, each other and the family,” the source says.
The insider tells PEOPLE that Bündchen hasn’t been this happy in a very long time.

“Everything has fallen into place for her, and she is fulfilled,” the source says. “Those close to her are so happy for her. Getting married was right.”

Bündchen, who shares son Benjamin, 16, and daughter Vivian, 13, with ex-husband Tom Brady, welcomed a baby boy with Valente earlier this year.
The author and wellness advocate appears to be keeping busy after the recent celebration. She was spotted out and about at a Vivara event in São Paulo on Thursday, Dec. 18, where she wore a form-fitting bronze dress. She is currently the face of the Brazilian jewelry brand, and she was at the event to model their latest Palace Collection, per Page Six.
