Prince Harry was once close to Kate Middleton, and she even defended him following the royal family feud.
The Duke of Sussex stepped back from the royal family six years ago before moving to America with his wife, Meghan Markle. In the years that followed, the pair hit out at The Firm, spilling royal family secrets in interviews.
In a chat with Oprah Winfrey, Harry claimed he and Meghan weren't "supported" by the royal family. He later hit out at his brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law, Kate, in his memoir, Spare. Despite this, Kate is believed to have stood by Harry, until one moment changed all that.

Royal expert Russell Myers addressed the royal family feud in his book William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story. He claimed the last straw for Kate was when allegations surfaced of Meghan's alleged treatment of royal staff.
"At first she had thought William and Harry's squabbles were rooted in immaturity or stubbornness, on both sides, but Harry and Meghan's attitude towards palace staff, who she and William cared about, set the couples on an entirely different course," he wrote.

Meghan has vehemently denied claims she mistreated staff. A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex described the rumors as an "attack on her character."
They added, "The duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.

"She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good."
Following the release of Myers' book, PR expert Ryan McCormick disagreed with the bullying claims being the last straw for Kate, instead pointing to another moment.
Speaking exclusively to The Express US, he shared, "Mr. Myers' report speculates on a hypothetical situation that William and Kate were turned away from Harry and Meghan based on how they treated staff.
"Have there been accounts of working for Markle being challenging? Well, they did go through 10 other publicists over the past few years. However, some workplace environments are more demanding than others. I do not think that there is fire anywhere near this smoke."
Instead, he said, "If anything, the final straw for William and Kate could have been when Harry went on an international book tour, trashing the royal family. While not being kind to the staff was likely noted, it probably did not move the needle nearly as much as what Harry did on that tour."
